bad blogger strikes again!!

Ok I know, I have said this before, but I must say working full time and blogging alot don't mix! haha No really, I am soooo glad it is summer and me and my P bug get to hang out and chill! I can now take pics again and blog more :) so sorry to all those who have been wondering where they have been, but trust me, this summer weekly updates will return. I still have to blog about our camping trip and 1st week of summer, but scroll down for 4 more post!

Presley has grown and changes so much in the last month of so! I can't believe that at this time next month we will be celebrating her first birthday! So here are some updates about her...she is not walking yet, but soon ( more to come on that later) but she is a speed crawler and wiggle worm! changing diapers and clothes can be quite a challenge, as well as getting in our car seat when we would rather be playing! She is really good at going limp like a noodle or bucking back. ugh she is going to give me a run for my money! She is talking up a storm and I can tell that she is starting to try and say things. I don't know what she is saying, but she is very adamit about it and her tone and voice change. It is too cute! but some of her words are mama, da da, and whoa.

stylin as usual...and Aimee yes, this was her outfit for going to the zoo with Mitzi a couple of weeks ago! haha :)
I am not sure if it is because Grace has one, or it is just part of her new attachment faze, but she now has a "blankie" it is the one she sleeps with and when you go in to pick her up in the morning or after a nap she smiles and hands it to you and then let you pick her up and gives it a BIG hug! When I say big hug I mean almost like a big bite! She has started coming up to you with her mouth wide open and puts it on you or the object she has and almost yells or makes noise why she is doing it...I like to think they are Presley kisses!

We like to use our flip camera and every time P sees it she stops and starts posing and wants to watch it! She loves watching the clips back of herself and laughing!

We are still working on the sippy cup. She will only drink water from it, and has just started doing that. I think because it is getting so hot! But she does like to drink water straight from a water bottle (more on that later) We found the ones with the harder tops are better because the soft ones she just wants to chew on.

what happens when you feed yourself (Carl CAN'T stand it when she gets messy like this) I think it is cute, nothing a good bath can't fix ;)
We now have 7 teeth! The last 2 just came in the past couple of days. These teeth have really been hard on her...fever, crabbiness, vomiting, etc. It has been hard to tell if she was sick or just teeth so we have been to the dr. a lot lately just getting "checked" out. But now that we have all of these teeth, we are starting to eat more solid food. We have been in the in between stage for a while. She didn't really want baby food, but wasn't too interested in solid food either. One day she likes something and the next she wants nothing to do with it...can we say picky eater!
She is getting more and more independent everyday. I can tell that I am going to hear a lot of "I can do it by myself" just like my mom informs me she heard ALOT! but she loves looking at books and I couldn't resist how cute she looked reading in her desk.
Well I think I have caught you up! Be sure to look below for more blogs.

my Molly and Me

This is a quick post but since I am using this blog to chronicle Presley's first year I wanted to remember Presley and her Molly. When we got the dog I was pregnant and everyone thought we were crazy!! But, actually it has been the best thing! Molly is very attached to Presley (and Carl) that she has to be everywhere P is. Molly is so good with her. It doesn't matter if she is playing rough with Carl, as soon as she gets around Presley she freezes. She lets her grab and pull, and climb all over her with out even flinching. I have a feeling that they are going to be the best of friends as they grow up. Carl and I use to tease that P's first words would be "no, Molly" but now we imagine things like "mommy, Molly just ate my ___!" She is very good at cleaning up around and in the high chair, and P is pretty sneaky about holding food out to the side so Molly can get it! haha

morning time
watching cartoons

everyone playing in Molly's house

I want to be just like Daddy!!

Well if you haven't been around P lately then let me tell you how much of a Daddy's girl she is! It is Daddy or NOBODY!! not even me! haha When he walks in the room she gets so excited and leaps out of my arms or starts fussing just to get to him. It is cute, but I can't wait until I get that much excitement from her one day...everyone has assured me that day will come :) But, I have to agree he is pretty fun and special!!

They love to vacuum together! Everything is wonderful until...
they are done!! and the meltdown begins..to bad I did not get her throwing her hands up and putting her head down in true drama queen style ( I wonder where she got that??) :)

for those that think she never cries and is all smiles...I know it is pitiful but I couldn't resist!

Carl was working in the backyard one day and had his Kayaks down. Presley loved crawling in and out of it and playing inside it. I know Carl can't wait to take her out in his new canoe when she is a little bigger. I have a feeling she will like it just as much!

Spring has sprung and gone...

It was such a nice spring this year and even seemed to last more than a couple of days. We took advantage of it and spent a lot of time outside playing and swinging, Miss P's favorite. Here are some pics.

Our friend Grant turned 2 in April and Presley went to her first birthday party. She had lots of fun, as I am sure most of the kids did. They had it out at camp Mohawk which was a park/camp that Carl grew up next to. Most of it was private but a few years back the county took it over and turned it into a county park, and it is awesome!! It is so nice, much better than when we were kids!

Weee!!
"Look Dad, no hands!!"

oh course she liked the big slide

One Saturday we loaded up the dog and a picnic and went to a local park for a while, it was nice and Presley wanted to wander all over the place. She was not having that blanket only business, there was too much to discover!

having lunch!!

Paula extended her patio and she bought a walker for P to use outside. She likes it, but doesn't quite have the hang of it. She can only seem to go backwards.

She is not a big fan of hats or glasses. Well actually she likes the glasses, but they don't stay on, she tilts them down and looks over the top of them and smiles. She always poses when you put them on and adjust them, then she tries to put them up on her head! It is too cute! she is such a ham.

Presley's first Easter

I didn't have very high expectations for Presley's interaction with this Easter, but she really surprised me and loved grabbing the eggs and shaking them around. This is a big post about all of our Easter festivities minus her perfect (yes I am bragging) picture with the Easter bunny...she actually started posing (she is such a mess!) Since we were gone last week camping we missed the Easter egg hunt at the church. On Wednesday the MOMS club was having an egg hunt in the morning. I could not take off for the morning but I was able to have my class covered and run up to the park for a few minutes and enjoy that time with her. It was so nice to be able to be there with her.

Practicing what to do with the eggs

"that doesn't look so hard, I think I can do that mom"

hunting eggs with my little Easter Bunny

chewing on mommy's of course

ahhhhh soooo excited!!! haha

playing on the playground
On Saturday we walked down to our neighborhood park to see the Easter Bunny and check out their festivities but by the time we got there they were almost done so we visited the petting zoo and the Easter Bunny and headed home. sorry no pics of that, they didn't load for some reason.

On Sunday, the Easter bunny left Presley a basket with a book, rattle toy, cherrio filled eggs, and a new swimming pool! Then we headed off to church and to my mom and dad's house after for more egg fun! Over all it was a nice and relaxing Easter and I just enjoyed spending time with my wonderful family.

checking out her goodies, (dad couldn't resist the ears again)

WOW! what do you mean there is stuff in these??

attempt at a family pic...glad someone is super excited :)

Funny story about Easter egg hiding. I asked Carl to go lay the eggs out for Presley to get. I was just going to put them on the sidewalk or grass for her to crawl up to and get, but when I looked out I only saw one. when I asked Carl, he said he hid them like I asked. When I say hid, I mean HID like hard for even me to find. On the fence, in the grill, behind plants, in the tree. I just started laughing!! I told him a little to early for that tricky of hiding, but maybe in a few more years! haha. It took me a few minutes to find them and lay them on the grass. I guess we all got to go on an egg hunt after all!

my beautiful girl! Warning, there were too many beautiful pics to choose from so I just put alot! :)

helping her find her eggs

my big girl walking with Daddy

she looks like she is really thinking about it

precious!!

I just LOVE this girl and absolutely love this face!! I think we are going to have to lock her up sooner than we thought, I see lots of boys knocking at our door!! ugh!

9 month stats

I look P to the doctor on Friday for her 9 month appointment! I can't believe it has been 9 months and the next time we go it will be for her year appointment!! Sometimes I wish I could just stop time and savor it a little more. Everything was well and my little active monkey is doing great and ahead of the schedule as far as language and movement go...who would have thought! :)

stats:
height - 28 3/4 inch (92%)
weight - 17 lbs (41%)
head - 17 1//4 in (53%)

She is still on the track to be tall and thin. Her weight percentile has gone up but she is still on the smaller side, which makes it hard to keep her from crawling out of her pants! haha

yes, he thinks she will be keeping the blue eyes! yay!! aren't they gorgeous!!
we are now crawling and pulling up on EVERYTHING!! she is getting more daring everyday and won't be long until she is running!

love this expression, she just makes us both laugh! she is exploring Molly more but loves to play with her, and Molly is so good around her!

I use to do this same thing with baby food lids. I think she is working hard on her top two teeth because she is chewing and pulling on everything.

my pretty girl

along with eating more food, she is becoming more challenging to feed because she wants her hands in it and it is getting a lot more messy. Which her father has a hard time handling! haha but this is what happens when you put vanilla pudding in your hair! at least she is happy! We just hose her off after she eats now :)
I am saving all of my Easter pics until after tomorrow, so I will post those soon. be sure to scroll down for lots more post. I will try to be a better updater this next month!

outdoor girl

My parents got a new camper last month with a couple of slideouts which gives us a LOT more room so last weekend we went off on another camping adventure to Lake Livingston. Last time we went Presley was only 2 months old. Now she is 9 so she should be a pro! ha! We did have a really good time and my girl proves once again that she loves, loves, loves, being outside...and of course with her Grammy and Pawpaw. We had a great time and P loved crawling around the camper and looking out the big windows, riding on the bike, swinging at the park, and going on lots of walks. It was so nice to get away!

Pawpaw pushing P in the big swing for the first time...do you think she likes it?

YEP! she loved it!! she would just giggle and kick her feet like crazy

the swing wasn't enough so Pawpaw attempted to climb up the big slide

Weeeeeee!

"Pawpaw this is how you do it"

"now let me read to you"

There were lots of ducks in the lake and Molly just couldn't resist chasing them, but they proved to be much faster!

taking a break and enjoying some ice cream

I have been informed that Grandma's purposes are to spoil and teach grand kids things they are not suppose to do in front of their parents! basically whatever they want! haha so my mom let P have all the candy she wanted...well sort of! She loved the shiny paper and tried to stuff as much in her mouth as possible. it was so cute!

Uh oh! Busted! "ok mom, let me explain...this is not what it looks like, Grammy did it!"
what a mess!

our happy family before we went home. We had such a nice spot and view of the lake, but Saturday night the wind picked up and was so strong on Sunday that we couldn't go outside so we had to pack up a little early.
