Big Girl Things

Well, my baby is officially 6 months old!! I know, it doesn't seem like 6 months has already gone by! And with P's half birthday comes many new "big" girl things that have all happened in just the last week or so...a little too many things at once if you ask her mama :) She is all over the place, scooting or almost crawling, she must have her daddy's military genes because she looks like she is low crawling. But, she can get to about whatever she wants! She is also pretty much sitting up on her own and gets stronger everyday. She is not able to go from laying to sitting, but is up on her side and trying very hard, as you can see from the pic.

We went to the Pediatrician and he gave the go ahead to finally start giving her some solids, but told us very sternly not to nurse her less because she really needs her calories. She is now 14.9 lbs (32 percentile) and 27 in long (79 percentile-it dropped a little) he suggested mixing cereal with juice but she didn't really like that, but I changed brands and we are mixing it with bananas and peaches so far. She really loves the bananas!! She is starting to get the hang of it and really opening her mouth, but is already very admit about trying to do it herself! so I have to be quick. We found out that the bumbo is getting to small, she tries to get out so we also started putting her in her big high chair. It is still a little small but she likes it.
Is this really suppose to be up my nose mom?

at church she is now out of the bumbo and is much more content in the big chairs. This is her and Evie graduating to the real chairs! ahhh feels like I just took her in there and she could barely sit in the bumbo!!

"watch mom, I can read too!! "
Mmmmm good!
I found these rice cake snacks called mum mum and they dissolve quickly and don't make much of a mess. I give them to her to occupy my very busy little girl and it gives us a chance to eat. she does not like us to eat in front of her. She watches us and gets mad because she can't do it to!

her big high chair!

we have caught her doing this a couple of times. She will be playing and then suddenly roll over and start watching tv. what is really funny is when she puts her feet up on the tv stand, she looks like she is just chilling out watching a movie!
The doctor said she looks good and is right on track. He wants us to try and up her milk intake and supplement with formula when needed. He commented on her high activity level again and said that could be why she is not weighing very much or eating every 2-3 hrs. He also said that might be why she is still not sleeping through the night (not enough volume intake). He said that as far as personality and activity she is at about a 9 month schedule! she is really wanting to move and be active which is getting increasing harder on us, especially when we are out and about. She has a way of throwing a tantrum when she doesn't get what she wants...can you say terrible 2's a year and a half early! haha I just can't believe how fast she is doing and how much she is suddenly able to do at once. Mom wanted to try and give her a sippy cup and I said not yet, too many things at once...I have to take this growing up thing a little slow! :)
here are a couple of pics of the UT/Bama game the other night...we were all decked out in our gear and had fun at Kay's

She really liked the way Kay's chair tasted...whatever works!

This is what happens when Daddy dresses you

So on most days, I lay out Presley's clothes, including socks so that Carl has no problems dressing her or making sure she is not wearing Thanksgiving socks in January. Well the other morning I woke up REALLY late, like 6:50 so I told Carl what I planned on dressing her in (remember is was only 30 degrees on Friday) and where to find it. He said he understood and no problem! Well this is what I found when I picked her up! He brought her to Mitzi's in her PJ's and this in her bag...blue pants onesie thin and almost capris, one pair of black pants, and her camo/pink cowboy boots, and the cap she came home from the hospital in with moons and stars on it! I was a little confused when I picked her up! haha well at least they stayed in that day and even played upstairs where it was warmer. My poor baby was cold! check out the pic!

"what was he thinking mom?"
now you might think the black pants didn't look bad but there was no top with them, he thought you could put them over the pants suit! LOL
When I asked him he said he looked everywhere for the clothes I was talking about, when I told him they were laundry basket of clean clothes waiting to be put up he was like "Ohhhhh!! did you say that?" "YES!!!" listening skills are not always his strong point! haha thought it was too funny, one day she will be old enough to tell him better

9 years!

Well, right now I am wishing I had a scanner so I could post a picture of the day Carl and I got married. Today is our 9 year anniversary! I can't believe it, time is passing so quickly. We were such babies when we met, fell in love, got married, and started our journey together. I realize how young we were when I look back at the pictures. I pull out the album every year. Carl had just turned 20 and I was 19. We started off in Hawaii and have had many journeys since then. I know that in the scope of our lives together 9 years is really just a ripple, but we have already been through so much and have essentially grown up together. This year we began a whole new journey, parenthood. It is by far the toughest but most rewarding! I am truly blessed to have Carl in my life. He is such a strong, constant, stable, and safe person to have by my side. I never have to worry and know that he is always there for me to lean on. He is a wonderful husband and a awesome father! I love him with all my heart and can't wait to see what the future holds for our lives. Again sorry no pictures our wedding was pre digital days! :)
