Molly's scare

Last night Molly started having accidents in the house like she couldn't hold her urine, and then we noticed blood so we called the vet today to make an appointment. Judging by the last few times we went to the vet, I decided for the safety of my child and my sanity, Carl needed to come along. We were there forever (they were busy) and she basically has a doggie UTI. So $125 later we get a tray to get a urine sample and some antibiotics...I wish dogs could just tell you whats wrong. After we decided to go the park, Molly was told she needed to shed a few pounds and get a little more exercise...don't we all!! :) We snapped a few shots while at our first family park outing. We will see what tomorrow's adventures bring.

Our attempt at a family photo...I think she had enough pics by this point
Carl loves when she puts her hands on her face

I was cracking up because she kept putting those arms in the air :)

Our busy 2nd week

Well, another week has gone by and we are starting to adjust well. Alot has happened in this last week and we have been pretty busy. The best part about the week is that we have been getting out of the house more. She has done great!! She loves being in the car, pushed in her stroller, or just moving in general. We started our week by going to the pediatrician. We could not get in to Dr. Quillin here in Clear Lake, so we went back to the Dr. we saw in the hospital. We really liked him and wish we could keep him, but his office is so far (at the hospital) and it is just more convienent here. Talking with him did help answer many questions and ease a lot of worries and fears. She gained all of her weight back she was 7. 2 and she got her first shot which made both me and her cry! :( We were there for a LONG time like 3 hrs. total and she did great (and so did we!) Carl's dad Taylor came in from Egypt on Friday so Saturday morning we loaded up the car, literally, and headed to Sugarland for Presley to meet her other Grandpa. We spent the whole day visiting and resting, which was nice. Paula and Presley spent a good part of the afternoon napping on the couch. On Sunday we got up and got us all ready for our first Sunday at church. As soon as we got there everyone wanted to see her. My mom held, more like hoarded her :), the whole time! We are never short of anyone wanting to hold her. I don't think she spent more than a couple of hours not being held the whole weekend! I did not get any pictures of her at church but my mom did so I will see if I can get one. This week we have just been getting out and about, the mall, Aces, and a support group up by the hospital. But, we are always welcome to visitors...I know many of you still want to come and see her! give us a call we'll be around.

Presley and Grandpa Taylor

After church, Carl wanted to put one of our plumeria's in her hair...I love this one :)

I just think these are too funny! she always sleeps with her hands over her head or puts them up in the air like she is raising her hand. You will see with more pics

told ya, here they are again

Presley's 1st week at home

So I have been trying to write this blog or any blog for the past few days, but just seem to be a little occupied! :) Needless to say we have made it through the first week and even with help and a pretty good baby, it is still exhausting!! I'm not quite sure I knew what I was getting myselft into here, but have been assured multiple times that it does get better! Anyway, we brought her home on Wednesday and my mom stayed until Saturday morning. That was a great help! I was terrified when she left, but we are doing good. She is not a fussy baby, but definitely a wiggley, fidgity baby when she is not content. I am learning to let her cry...that is hard!! We go to the pediatrician today, so I will let you all know what he says. Here are some pictures starting with when we brought her home and her one week picture.

Mommy and my pretty little girl
caught one with out the pacifier

When we got home...she looks like a snow princess with those mittens on, but we couldn't keep her from scratching her face.

Toby checking her out! This was too funny!! He would strectch up and sniff her and pat a her a minute and when she would move he would jump and run away...he hasn't gotten near her since.

giving her her first bath, with the help of mom of course! :)

too sweet, daddy and Presley taking a nap

I just thought this one was too cute!! Her face and little hand gesture

Welcome Presley Emerson Auburg

I know most of you have been waiting very patiently to see the pics of our new baby girl so here they are. She was born yesterday afternoon July 6, 2009 at 1:25 pm weighed 7 lbs. 1.5 oz. and 20 in. long. She is perfect and beautiful! Many of you wondered which one of us she would look like and which features she would take, since Carl and I are so different, she has a FULL head of dark hair, fair skin, and as of today deep blue eyes. As far as who she looks like, we are still trying to decide. I guess we will wait till we start looking at baby pictures, but for now...a little bit of both of us. It was a great labor. My water broke at home and we got to the hospital by 4:00 am and they started getting closer and slightly stronger, but they wanted to start pitocin anyway because my water had broken and they didn't want it to be very long. As soon as they did that, I went from 0 to 60 on the pain and contraction scale. The nurse had told me to wait till they got stronger because it would be easier to take the epidural. I couldn't last much longer, yes I am a weenie when it comes to pain! Once the epidural was in I started getting sick, Carl was so cute he couldn't find anything but this huge metal trash bin, and dragged it over. The nurse said "oh you might be further along than I thought..." and checked me and I was 9+!! I went from 4 to 9+ in an hr!! So now we were just waiting on my doctor who was working on the North side of town for the morning. She would be back here at 1:00. When she got here she had an emergency c section and wanted to deliver Presley first. I pushed for 3 contractions and bam she was here!! We all couldn't believe how fast it was! Carl got to cut the cord and I was able to get a great picture, but wasn't sure if you all wanted to see it! :) ask us and we'll show you! We are all doing good and will be headed home tomorrow, as long as everything continues to go well. It hasn't all quite set in yet, that there are 3 of us now and she is actually ours!! On a side note (wish we could of gotten a good picture of this) I have always told Carl that girls are born with the "pouty lip" it's who they are and he never believed me...well sure enough she came out with the most pitiful and sad little cry and the biggest, funniest "pouty lip" you have ever seen!! We were all cracking up, it was just quivering and I said "oh no,...this is going to be the end of your daddy!" :)

1st hold...little sumo wrestler face, it got better after awhile!
Presley and Dr. Smith...too funny

With Grammy...still wailing!

Calmed down, welcome to the world little Presley

Can you believe all that hair!!

There will be plenty more to come, I promise!! and soon so stay tuned!! Thank you all for the calls, texts, and visits we love you all and can't wait for everyone to meet our little sweet pea.

False alarm!

First of all scroll down for more post...

As you can tell by the picture, we were in the hospital today...I know, I know, some of you didn't get "the call" but don't worry we weren't actually admitted, well permanently at least. We wanted to make sure we were staying before we let everyone know. I had a doctor's appointment scheduled for today already but hadn't planned on going because we had just seen her on Monday (I was dilated to 3+ and 75% effaced). But, I went up to the mall to get our maternity pics and make one other stop and I suddenly started getting really bad cramps and was getting nauseous. I was like okay...that is interesting and it didn't go away and was hard for me to focus on anything else but that. So I called the doc and they told me to go ahead and come in. So Carl got "the call" and rushed home to get me. We got there and the doc said are we in labor and I said, "I don't know but I have a headache and I am sick to my stomach" she immediately wanted to admit me and if I wasn't in full blown labor by tonight she was going to induce me. I immediately was like deer in headlights, put on the brakes, and kinda freaked out a little! Whoa, what, a baby today!?! No, I don't think I am ready. So the doc just sent us to the hospital to be observed and monitored for awhile. She was thinking preclampsyia?? (sorry spelling) and didn't want me to have a seizure at home. So after a brief moment of almost falling apart in the office, a long list of stuff not done running through my head we headed to the hospital. Everything was fine, blood work, constant BP checks, and minor spaced out contractions. She said she could induce like we talked about or we could go home. I really just wanted to go home, something was telling me this just isn't the time and I would see if she just would come on her own, no reason to rush it to me :) plus I'm still a little scared and nervous about the whole birth thing. I know...blah, blah, blah...I can't put it off forever! It is going to happen, just not then! :) despite what some certain friends, and my mom (she is really excited and ready) were saying!! haha So we are back at home and may be back at the hospital in just a few days or next week who knows. I still have the headache and am feeling a little off but no contractions. But we will definitely keep everyone posted.

I was telling Carl I meant to take a belly picture of me for the scrapbook and now I wouldn't be able to, so he took this of me at the hospital, texting of course! So when we got home I made sure to take a few...38 weeks

An almost finished room...

Well, still haven't got the bedding yet!! Yes, needless to say, I am a little more than irritated seeing that 12weeks took more like 18 weeks! She assures me that it is being shipped tomorrow but I still don't know if she is going to honor my request to overnight it for free. I have been so nice about the whole thing and when I ask for one thing, she hasn't responded to me...sometimes I think I am just too nice and don't want to rock the boat when I should. This whole thing has really bothered me because we are about to have her and I just wanted to enjoy her room, completed room, for just one day, but oh well, not possible. But, man I tell you those nesting instincts are strong and can make you a little crazy especially when you can't complete your nest!! haha So here it is so far minus bedding, pillow, curtains, and toy bag. Oh yeah we also haven't put up her name or painted the saying on the wall that we want..."Our Sweet P.E.A" get it, cute huh??
super cute bow holder I got from shower on Sunday!
just hung bookshelves don't have them full yet, also name will go above window

changing table/dresser...I wanted a chandelier so bad, but thought these lanterns hanging turned out to be really cute and much less hassle and price!

tall dresser with princess stuff (tutu, socks, pearls, and piggy bank) she has already started collecting them. I thought it would be cute to collect these different kind of piggy banks, maybe it will teach her to save her money and not spend it like her mommy!! She has a princess one, a UT one, and a little one with flowers.
her bed

Her special bookcase, with her dress we plan on bringing her home in, 1st bible, and my music box from when I was a baby.
When everything gets here I will post officially completed room photos, but until then...

last shower

My good friend Amy threw me a "girlfriends" type shower on Sunday afternoon. We had to reschedule it because the original date was unavailable for all but me and her and what fun would that have been? It was small but we had a fun time. I didn't get many pictures, but we played games and laughed alot! Especially when tasting baby food and guessing how big around my belly was!! The cake was soooo cute and super yummy! Thanks Amy your the best!! Here are a few pics.
