The new family workout plan

Well it is officially fall, and the weather actually feels like it! Today was beautiful and instead of going to the gym I told Carl I wanted us all to go to the park and walk and play with Molly. We loaded up the jogging stroller and everyone and headed out. Carl ran a little with the dog...he said she was out of shape and gave up pretty quick! Poor thing that is what having a baby will do to ya! As soon as I started pushing P she was out like a light for the whole 2 1/2 miles. After Carl threw the ball to Molly and I did some lunges, squats, and resistance with my favorite work out partner, sweet pea! Here are a few pics

" Please don't throw that ball to me again dad, I wiped!!"
She likes the carrier now that she can see out, and she weighs like 11lbs now so good little resistance.

time for a snack...we worked up quite a thirst with our workout :)

getting ready for bed (Nancy I threw this one in there for you!) check out the bunny slippers! I love them!!

Date Day

My parents have been out of town and they told us they would keep Presley a couple nights for us when they got back so that Carl and I could have some alone time and celebrate my birthday. We had a really great time just being together and laughing and enjoying our time. Since it was my birthday I got to pick what we did, and for those of you who know me well you might be a little surprised at what I chose to do. Since Carl wouldn't go get manicures with me :) I decided to try something new...going to the shooting range. I know crazy, guns usually aren't my thing, but I have been wanting to learn more about them and get more comfortable, well at least not jump everytime I hear one go off. I took her over late Friday night and we ended up going to a late night movie. We slept in Saturday morning (nice!) and went and had breakfast and headed off to the range. It was surprisingly fun and Carl had fun laughing at me :) I did well, with lots of ear protection of course. However I am not so good at shooting skeet. First of all the gun was way to heavy and big and I would get so nervous of the blast that I would blink my eyes and then just shut them as I shot! Carl got a big kick out of that...he was rolling!! getting stuff ready

shooting the AR...I actually hit a bulls eye with open sites! I was so proud of myself...Carl didn't even hit it!! hehe

Carl trying to show me how to stand and shoot the shotgun...didn't really work well

me trying! I did finally hit one at the very end, but was tired and decided to stop while I was still having fun.

Later Saturday night we headed to BeniHanna's for dinner. It was my first time there and was really neat! We had a lot of fun!

Carl told them it was my birthday so they made me put on that silly hat, but I got them to take a pic without it too. I really enjoyed my time with him and two whole nights of sleep! I did miss my little girl though, it's just not the same with out her!

recent happenings

I know I have been a bad blogger. There is lots of catching up to do, so there are a couple more post below this one. It has been a pretty busy September and it doesn't seem like it should be almost over. November 9th is quickly approaching (the day I go back to work). But here are a few things that have been going on.

For some reason this picture got erase while writing so it will only post at the top it actually belongs at the bottom. oops :)

Debbie's birthday lunch. Presley's first lunch with the ladies so of course we had to put our party dress on (bow included) sorry, I didn't get close ups. We had a lot of fun and of course Presley served as party entertainment talking everyone's ear off! I have video but it wouldn't let me upload it.

My cousin Abby came down to visit, meet Presley, and have a combined lunch for our birthdays (they are a week apart) We had an awesome visit and of course she brought us lots of goodies as usual! Her son is 6 months old so she brings baby stuff she doesn't need anymore, its great! We will get to see her and the rest of the family in October when my grandmother visits, I can't wait!

It is football season and if you know Carl that mean UT EVERYTHING!! So of course it would not be complete with out Presley being in the spirit. Scott and Linda sent this onesie when we were first pregnant (our first baby gift) but it is 6-9 months so it was a little big, but oh well! I also found her some longhorn socks and a bow for next week. We went to Kay and Lenny's to watch the UT vs. Tech game Saturday. We had a lot of fun as you can see :) I think Kay was teaching her the fight song...or maybe apologizing for getting to exciting and yelling in front of her! haha

10 Things I love about being a mom

Okay so I have to admit that it took a little while for the joys of motherhood to set in...don't get me wrong, I love my little girl, but the first month was well, down right scary!! It took me a while to adjust to this little creature who has taken over our lives. Now that I am settled in and, well...a pro! haha then I am truely enjoying this sweet little angel! She is so much fun and brings a smile to my face everyday and lets face it how could you not just eat up all of this cuteness!! While we have this special time together and before I forget it, I thought I would share a few of my favorite things about Presley and being her mommy!

1. I love, love, love her smile and how whenever she looks at me a huge smile comes across her face!

2. her eyes...they are absolutely beautiful and sparkling! From the moment she was born you could see your reflection in them. I love how she looks at me especially when I am feeding her. She intently stares at me and it is this special bond between us.

3. speaking of feeding, I love feeding her in the middle of the night! yeah I know, crazy huh! I would rather be sleeping, but now that she is starting to skip middle of the night feeding I find myself missing that special quite time I have with her.

4. Her personality (hence pic abouve and below) her expressions say a thousand words!! they are too funny and seriously crack me up! Carl and I both know that she is going to be a handful and give us a run for our money!
5. sitting and talking with her. She is talking soooo much and when she does she just has all of these sounds and expressions going along with it. She really has something to tell you. If she is anything like her mom and dad she will definitly never be short of words.
6. How she loves her daddy!! I love, love, love to watch them together. They sit and talk and read stories, and she just stares at him. It is the sweetest and cutest thing!

7. "naked Presley time" okay let me explain...everynight when we go in to change her for bed we both do it together and play with her tummy and talk and sing to her. She loves it! She shrieks and squeels, and smiles, and talks! it is a special time we all share together, getting ready for bed

8. how good of a baby she is! She really is an easy baby and never really fusses. In fact when she does it is the cutest thing and makes me laugh. When she whines she opens her mouth to cry and as it closes her lip literally pops out! Oh man am I in trouble! But really, she goes everywhere and is just really content and happy! I couldn't ask for better...I know everyone says enjoy because the next might not be so happy!
9. Her beauty...I could stare at her all day! I know I am a little biased but I do believe I gave birth to the most beautiful baby in the world!! People stop us everywhere and comment on how cute she is! It is amazing to look at her and realize she is part of you and how you helped make something so beautiful and great!
10. The responsibility I have been given. this scared me at first, but now I look at it as a privalige. No matter what or where I am she knows I am her mom and I will always be there for her and comfort and take care of her. That is such an awesome feeling! I began struggling with the fact that I have to go back to work soon, and not being there for her like I should, but I know that she knows that I love her and that is what counts!
There are hundreds of other things I could list, but those are just some of them...okay I have to stop because I am crying too much :)

Birthdays now and then...

Okay so for those of you who know me well, I think Birthday's are a pretty big deal, especially mine! In fact so much so that I usually dedicate a whole month to myself :) ask other virgos they seem to do it too! haha Anyway, since having a child that notion seemed to fly right out the window along with many other things in my life. Not that I would trade it for anything else! So, this years birthday was simple and uneventful, in fact I almost forgot!! So I start my 28th year on a whole new adventure...motherhood, and I am loving it!! Wow what a difference a year makes. This year we went to lunch with Carl, Mom, and Dad and then to dinner with some friends. This weekend Carl and I are going to have a "date day" and just spend some time together while P gets some quality time with Grammy and Papaw. Maybe next year I will go back to celebrating the month...okay it might take a few more years :)

Carl got me a beautiful necklace from our friend Travis at Ben Bridge and mom and dad got me a flip video camera...tooo cool!!! you will be seeing video clips soon
Presley with the birthday girl. She is getting so strong and loves to stand up! p.s. check out the super cute sandals!!! gold gladiators :) I love them...we have matching pairs!

labor day camping trip

Last Friday, we sent Daddy off on his adventure and then headed off on our own. Mom, Dad, Presely, and I all headed to Lake Texana for the weekend, and my little camper was a happy camper all weekend! She did great and we had a really good time just relaxing, walking, playing, and just all being together. She got plenty of quality time with Grammy and Papaw. My dad doesn't get to hold her and play with her much...there is always too much of a line :) so he really enjoyed it, and held her most of the weekend. She kept us entertained with all of her talking (I'll try and post video because it is too funny listening to her!!) Here are some pics of our weekend.

hanging out with Gram's trying not to get to much sun!
playing peek a boo with papaw

Presley?? where is Presley?? do you see her?? hehe

the deer playing in our campsit. before it would rain they would come out and play and chase each other and come right up to us!

grillin!!

What she did while we ate

after our bath watching a movie

after a long day of camping!! whoo I'm wiped!

On one of her many "walks" with papaw...they did this all weekend and they would just talk and explore

She loved going for walks in her stroller, well actually she slept most of the time :) she loves to move, it puts her out in an instant!

In other news Carl and Josh completed the CR100 in better time than they thought...18 1/2 hrs! They did great escpecially since they really didn't train and their boat was heavier than most in their class. They came in 16th place in their class of 60 I think! Greg and Cindy (Josh's parents) were there to resupply them, more importantly provide them with Whaterburger!! Carl said everyone was staring at them and giving them dirty looks as they ate it at the checkpoint. Looks like Carl has a new marathon to add to his list each year.

The great outdoors

Tomorrow starts our holiday weekend of outdoor activities, separately though. Carl and Josh are doing the CR100 which is a kayak race down the Colorado River and yes, it is 100 miles!! I think they are crazy, but whatever. They have 36hrs. to complete it but they are confident that they will finish in under 20. They don't intend to sleep and haven't really trained or practice...hence the craziness! However, most things Carl does he doesn't train for, but this time it involves Josh too, so we will see. I am not going, to hard with the baby to try and go see them, so they have talked Greg and Cindy (Josh's parents) into resupplying them at the checkpoints. We have all been teasing them and giving them a hard time, but I am sure they will do fine and have fun...if anything, I am sure there will be some pretty good stories to come out of it.

P and I are going camping this weekend. Yes, I will go camping but won't go watch my husband kayak. Well, let me clarify...we are going with Grammy and Pawpa so that means luxury camping (ie camper w/ac and tv) all the comforts of home in the great outdoors :) I didn't want to be home all weekend by myself so thought we would tag along. Presley even has her little pink camo onesie ready to go...what she is a girl, she has to go in style! haha I will post pictures when we get back. Keep Carl and Josh in your prayers that they complete their race safely and hope everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend.

my future supermodel

I am finally posting her newborn pictures! We ABSOLUTELY LOVE them!! They even brought tears to Carl's eyes. I definitaly have one photogenic child! :) We had them done by Melanie Ellsworth in Friendswood who works out of her home. I totally recommend her to everyone, and she is soooo resonable. Here are a few of our favorites but you can go to her website and view all of Presely's pictures. Also we are trying to get them ordered but you will all be receiving an announcement soon...I know it will be more than late, but better late than never.

If you go to www.melellphotography.com click on client proofing and enter password: Presley731 you can view all of the pictures

Love this one!! I made the bucket and thought it would be a cute pic

Absolute favorite!
