Really???

So due to this whole swine flu thing, we are reminding the kids about good handwashing skills and how not to spread germs...."be germ busters, not spreaders!" I know, I know but it's Kindergarten. Anyway, right after my big speech and discussion with the kids we are walking down the hall to PE. We have been working on staying in the line and not touching the wall. Everyone was doing a pretty good job, except as I look back I see one boy in particular walking down the hall running his cheek along the wall with his tongue out!!! SERIOUSLY!! I just shook my head and said a little prayer for the poor kid! and one for myself, cause if Swine flu makes it to Friendswood my class will be the first to have it! haha

1st baby shower

I had my first baby shower on Saturday, with our Sugarland friends and family. They are such a fun group of ladies that have really become special to Carl and I. He is the only boy "cabana boy/daddy" they call him that they let be around! The wonderful Mary was my host and she also throws a fabulous party! We had a wonderful brunch with quiche, fruit, salad, and mimosa's (mine virgin of course). They all gave me such beautiful and wonderful things, including her very first set of pearls (bracelet that is) they are SO tiny! We had such a great time!

My wonderful hostesses Mary and Paula
Mary's baby girl pink tree, she thinks of everything!! It was sooo cute!

the beautiful table, we all sat at the "long table" at Mary's instead of the ever famous kitchen!

the yummy strawberry ricotta cake from Amici's ohhh sooo yummy!

Presley's first set of pearls, no girl can be without them!

Okay still trying to remember that these pictures load up backwards! So look from the bottom up to see the progression! haha Well, last time we were in a debate about stripes and mom came to the rescue and they turned out fantastic!! I absolutely love them and the pink too! They weren't that hard, and we still have the tape up so we can paint the horizontal stripe. Carl decided that the room needed fine tuning so he went back with a fine paint brush and touched up the stripes, and then painted the celing white. All this from someone who wanted nothing to do with stripes, huh? oh well, I have given up on trying to figure that crazy brain of his out! haha He decided to pick up the furniture and surprise me with it. I asked him if he wanted to put the bed together together and he said, "absolutley not!" I guess that is good because I have heard that putting beds together can take you down the road to divorce! haha after the painting I figured it was a good idea to just let him do it! It looks so good and will grow with her, so she can keep it till she leaves home. Thanks to her wonderful grandparents for helping give her this great furniture! I am totally nesting and can't wait to get the bedding and start putting it all together.

her beautiful bed, now if I could only get the bedding.
All finished minus the stripe and some rearranging :)

He wouldn't let me help, but Molly insisted!

Carl went and tried to surprise me by picking up the furniture.

the stripes after mom and I finished painting them last weekend. where the green tape is, is going to be a sage/pale green stripe to separate the wall.

1st swim

For those of you that don't know, Carl and I are the proud owners of a 3 month old black lab puppy! Haha I know, I know, we are crazy!!! Everyone has told us, a baby and a dog, yes, Carl and I have lost our minds! But, she is learning fast and I only wanted to put her on the street with a "take me" sign once when she chewed up my favorite shoe...well at least so far. So, until we have this baby, I must boast about my other girl, Molly! Today she went for her first swim and it was sooo funny! We got her a pool in the backyard to play in when she is hot and she will only put her paws in because I think she thinks she is going to get in trouble like she does for playing in the toilet. We took her to challenger park this afternoon to play and let Carl and Josh do some fishing. We thought it might be fun to see if she would actually get in the water for her ball. So Josh the resident lab owner decided to teach her. He put it right at the edge and she went in and brought it back and each time he would toss it a little further. When it got deeper she started to go for it, immediately stopped in her tracks looked back at us with this horrified look and came back. After much encouragement we got her to try again. She kept going just as far a she could before she started to have to swim and then would turn around. It was soo funny watching her, but after she got the hang of it, she loved it and was running around like crazy!! Now we won't be able to keep her out of the water!!

Carl and his girl Molly after her first swim
Ok maybe not...Mom! help me!
She is starting to like it

Josh keeps trying to get her to get the ball but she is hesitant of the "deep" water!

In Prego news...We got a box full of goodies last night from Eric and Minori, Carl's brother. It was full of clothes of all different sizes! She even put them in baggies and labeled them! How sweet, she is great! The best part is it had a baby bjorn carrier (the exact one I registered for in it!!) they had one and only used it a few times, so that is such a blessing. I am finally putting up a prego pic of me. I am 27 weeks now and go next Tuesday for my last of the 4 week appointments, after this we are going every 2 weeks! Wow, time is flying, I can't believe it! I will have to put some pictures of the earlier days of pregnancy for those of you who don't get to see me often. I am suddenly beginning to feel really pregnant and the warmer weather isn't helping! I think I got my first feelings of swelling! My hands start getting tight and when I cross my legs on the floor it feels like my legs are getting tighter like they are balloons filling up with water...literally!! haha Oh, I am sure the best is yet to come!!

Molly seems very interested in all our new goodies...actually she was just looking for something she could chew on!

Sooo cute!

27 weeks! and to think that shirt use to be really loose!! haha

She is really starting to pop out now...and I am feeling it!

Painting Woes...

Well yesterday marked our first day to start on painting the baby's room. Carl had to prime and then we were going to put some samples up to choose the color. I already knew Carl wasn't wild about stripes and when he said he didn't want to help put them up but would paint them, I assumed if I did all the measuring and leveling he would at least help me put the tape where I couldn't reach it. NOPE!! He didn't want ANY part! In fact he thought stripes were just a really stupid idea and a waste of mine and anyone I had help me's time! Needless to say it turned into a rediculous stubborn fight with both of us standing our ground and one of us with raging hormones which always equals lots of tears! haha So we decided after a few hours of not speaking and me thinking I was going to murder him and burry him in the backyard, on the light pink color. This was the lightest color we had and the sample looked so faint you could barely see it. When it was all said and done, it was very pink, like cotton candy pink, dumbo pink, crazy pink...are among a few comments that were made. It kinda hurt my eyes at first and is a little darker than I wanted, but maybe it will grow on me. The picture makes it look lighter. I don't know I may need some other more reliable girl opinions before I decide what to do next. Today went much better!! Yeah! Carl installed the fan, and we primed the base boards and door frames (the people before us used oil based cream paint to paint all the baseboards and doors, yuck! and you can only paint over by priming it with toxic smelling oil based primer!) So I think we are at a stopping point today and are headed to Sugarland for some fun at Mary's!!

Ok...Finally getting started

I have had this blog for a month or so, but haven't actually gotten it up and running, so here goes! I have officially joined the blogging world. As I try to figure it out, hopefully someone will actually read it! haha. I will write more and post some pics later. I am going to play around with it for a while. Well Erica, guess I didn't need tutoring after all just patience! :)
