Happy Independence Day!!

Well this July 4th wasn't too much different than last, other than the fact that I wasn't VERY pregnant, but instead of being misserably hot carrying a baby inside me, I was misserably hot carrying another hot baby on me!! But, hey you can't ask for anything else in Texas :) We were afraid with all the bad weather that it would be a washout, but no we had no rain and a lot of fun! On Sunday we went to church in our Sunday red, white, and blue best (sorry no pics...we really were cute!) I tried explaining to Gary Scogin that yes, my child did have 3 outfits for the 4th and a dressy one for Sunday since the holiday landed on a Sunday. He about fell on the floor!! haha That is the difference between having boys and girls :) Then we tried to go home and get a nap before the party out at our friends, the Hamilton's. Our poor girl has been having a hard time lately...I think she is really trying to get in her 1st molar and every week or so she has a bad day/night and just doesn't sleep well. Well this fell on the 4th, so we were a little cranky, hence the reason I don't have too many pics! We finally made it out to the annual 4th party and Presley did amazingly well, especially for being up late. We played in the water, ate some yummy fish, and watched another awesome fireworks show!!! On Monday we got up and tried to take P to her first parade. We met the scogins and after being drenched in sweat for an hr. we enjoyed a few minutes of the parade before our kids all tired out and were ready to go home. Oh well, maybe next year!! Overall it was a great holiday weekend!!

me and my star spangled baby!
It looked like a good idea until they got up there!! After Carl watched Wyatt fly down the slide, barely touching the surface, we started second guessing! haha Let's just say it was so funny, I almost wet my pants!!

and down they go, well Carl, he managed to hold Presley up the whole time! No worries she actually loved it! My child has NO fear! They went down a few more times before giving up and blowing up the kiddie pool :)

In the dry bouncer with daddy. She didn't know what to think of it either.

Rachel and Presley playing in "her" pool

Having fun in the splashy pad

I just love this look!! It cracks me up, it is so sarcastic!! By the way, she is looking at her dad...I am sure he was doing something to get her attention :)

getting ready to go to the parade in her super cute ladybug outfit her grandma Helen got her.

at the parade, "really dad, I don't know what all this hype it about?? can we go home now?"
I hope you all had a wonderful and safe July 4th. We are all so very blessed to live in a country where we can celebrate being free!

Auburg Family Fun Days

Carl and I have been trying to do some fun and different things together as a family this summer. It is so fun for both of us to watch Presley experience something new for the first time, and all of the things we have done, she has loved! We took her to the Children's museum for the first time last month and she loved it! They have redone it and have this great area just for toddlers. She is still too young for the rest of the museum, but this is worth it!
she loved the slide and would try her hardest to climb back up
Presley and Daddy looking through the glass at mommy in the tunnel below..

this little boy was like, "I'm outta here, this girl is crazy!!" and Presley is like "what??"

move outta the way I'm coming through!!

she absolutely loves tunnels! and would go back and fourth through this one.

she was so fascinated by the color wheel flowers, as you can tell she is yelling and making all kinds of noise as they spin! She was so happy :)

We discovered our child is kind of the "bully child" everytime another child would touch something she would want it, or rather take it, and if they let her have it and went for something else, then she wanted it too! We are really going to have to work on sharing!

Our little navigator..."where to next?"

they have a great outdoor section with water that kids can build boats, see how water works, and just get their hands wet. P was a little too small to reach it all by herself.

Because it was a Saturday, and SUPER crowded, they had a wonderful children's band playing and we stopped to listen and dance!

I could just squeeze her!! :)

Carl dared me to try...obviously I am not very good at it. Hand eye coordination is not my forte!!

enjoying lunch at one of our favorite places in Rice Village. We decided to sit outside, because Presley is always happier outdoors, and we were right. She did great and was fascinated by all the birds walking around.

enjoying a french fry and trying not to fall asleep
Another place we have enjoyed and gone back many times, well at least P and I have, is Palm Beach at Moody Gardens. It is this great place at moody gardens that has the best of the beach and pool all in one. There are white sand beaches, a big pool perfect for kids, and area with small waterslides and climbing structures, and a splash pad. I love it because umbrellas and chairs are provided, there are clean bathrooms, and the prices aren't ridiculous! We ended up buying a season pass and it has already payed for itself. We have gone during the week with some of our friends and Presley just loves it.

playing in the sand for the first time. She only put it in her mouth once.

going down the slide with daddy

It looks like they are going down a super fast and dangerous slide by the look on Carl's and her face, haha. But it is really a kiddie slide :)

Carl teaching her how to blow bubbles in the water.

after she tried it.
She wore herself out, she was asleep before we even left the parking lot :) We have been having a great summer and have more fun planned so we will keep you posted. There is another new post below.

Dog Daze of Summer

All I can say is I LOVE summer!!! It has been so much fun to just get to be a mom and go and do things with Presley now that she is a little older and A LOT more active. Here are a few pictures of some things we have been doing.

playing dress up and learning to rock in her chair. Not sure what is up with the octopus in her mouth but she wouldn't drop it. I think she has been watching Molly a little too much!
For Father's Day I let her try her hand at finger painting...as you can tell she enjoyed!

We have been going to at least a couple of MOM's club events each week. They plan a lot of fun outings during the summer and I am glad that I get to experience them with Presley. We have been spending a lot of time in the water and at splash pads. She really likes the water and is pretty fearless!

trying to catch the water

Even though her and Grace are not together everyday during the summer, we still get to see her at least once a week, whether it is a MOM's club event or the library for story time. It is so cute, they get soooo excited when they see each other, and Presley just squeals when she sees both Mitzi and Grace! She will be so excited to spend her days with her again soon.

Checking out her new baby. We wanted to wait until her birthday, but decided to get her a push toy early in hopes to help her start walking. She has taken a couple of steps but would rather just hang on or crawl because she is so fast at it!

"Whoooo this is fun!!"

Her other new and favorite thing is playing in the tupperware cabinet. I wish mine were a little smaller so it wouldn't be such a chore to clean up 10 times a day, but oh well! She is having a blast and that is all that matters!

"hehehe, look what I can do!" she looks so mischievous!

see what I mean!
I have a lot more to post about so be on the look out...4th of July, Palm beach, and her 1st birthday!
