camping round 3

Went much better this time!! We all went camping for Memorial Day, but this time we had more guest. About 14 families from the church all went to Lake Texana. It was nice to spend time with everyone, and we actually got some sleep. The first night only a few wake ups, the second night, none! and the third a few...a far cry from screaming crying every 3 hours! I think it was because she was WORN out! It was very hot, but we had a good time. It was so nice to have the camper to put Presley in to cool off in the heat of the day, and escape the pesky mosquito's! I think she is becoming a camping pro! Well, at least my parents would like to think so :) They can't wait until she is older and they can take her with them all the time! I did not take near as many pictures as my mom did, but here are a few. I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day and took the time to thank or remember a soldier and the sacrifices they have all made more us!

my mom brought Popsicles for all the kids and of course Presley did not want to be left out!
Well if Rachel won't give me a bite then maybe Wyatt will! :)

okay finally somebody will give me a bite

We didn't think we would have been able to swim but brought our suits anyway. On Sunday we found a good spot to take a dip and thought Presley might like to cool off. She loved watching Molly play in the water!

taking a break in the shade with Ms. Kim

This is what she learned that weekend. We have been struggling to get her to drink from a sippy cup and no wonder, she want to go straight to a cup! She couldn't get enough of the cold water from the bottle. She did really good when she would get her lips on it right.
I think our next trip will be when it cools off a little more!

bad blogger strikes again!!

Ok I know, I have said this before, but I must say working full time and blogging alot don't mix! haha No really, I am soooo glad it is summer and me and my P bug get to hang out and chill! I can now take pics again and blog more :) so sorry to all those who have been wondering where they have been, but trust me, this summer weekly updates will return. I still have to blog about our camping trip and 1st week of summer, but scroll down for 4 more post!

Presley has grown and changes so much in the last month of so! I can't believe that at this time next month we will be celebrating her first birthday! So here are some updates about her...she is not walking yet, but soon ( more to come on that later) but she is a speed crawler and wiggle worm! changing diapers and clothes can be quite a challenge, as well as getting in our car seat when we would rather be playing! She is really good at going limp like a noodle or bucking back. ugh she is going to give me a run for my money! She is talking up a storm and I can tell that she is starting to try and say things. I don't know what she is saying, but she is very adamit about it and her tone and voice change. It is too cute! but some of her words are mama, da da, and whoa.

stylin as usual...and Aimee yes, this was her outfit for going to the zoo with Mitzi a couple of weeks ago! haha :)
I am not sure if it is because Grace has one, or it is just part of her new attachment faze, but she now has a "blankie" it is the one she sleeps with and when you go in to pick her up in the morning or after a nap she smiles and hands it to you and then let you pick her up and gives it a BIG hug! When I say big hug I mean almost like a big bite! She has started coming up to you with her mouth wide open and puts it on you or the object she has and almost yells or makes noise why she is doing it...I like to think they are Presley kisses!

We like to use our flip camera and every time P sees it she stops and starts posing and wants to watch it! She loves watching the clips back of herself and laughing!

We are still working on the sippy cup. She will only drink water from it, and has just started doing that. I think because it is getting so hot! But she does like to drink water straight from a water bottle (more on that later) We found the ones with the harder tops are better because the soft ones she just wants to chew on.

what happens when you feed yourself (Carl CAN'T stand it when she gets messy like this) I think it is cute, nothing a good bath can't fix ;)
We now have 7 teeth! The last 2 just came in the past couple of days. These teeth have really been hard on her...fever, crabbiness, vomiting, etc. It has been hard to tell if she was sick or just teeth so we have been to the dr. a lot lately just getting "checked" out. But now that we have all of these teeth, we are starting to eat more solid food. We have been in the in between stage for a while. She didn't really want baby food, but wasn't too interested in solid food either. One day she likes something and the next she wants nothing to do with it...can we say picky eater!
She is getting more and more independent everyday. I can tell that I am going to hear a lot of "I can do it by myself" just like my mom informs me she heard ALOT! but she loves looking at books and I couldn't resist how cute she looked reading in her desk.
Well I think I have caught you up! Be sure to look below for more blogs.

my Molly and Me

This is a quick post but since I am using this blog to chronicle Presley's first year I wanted to remember Presley and her Molly. When we got the dog I was pregnant and everyone thought we were crazy!! But, actually it has been the best thing! Molly is very attached to Presley (and Carl) that she has to be everywhere P is. Molly is so good with her. It doesn't matter if she is playing rough with Carl, as soon as she gets around Presley she freezes. She lets her grab and pull, and climb all over her with out even flinching. I have a feeling that they are going to be the best of friends as they grow up. Carl and I use to tease that P's first words would be "no, Molly" but now we imagine things like "mommy, Molly just ate my ___!" She is very good at cleaning up around and in the high chair, and P is pretty sneaky about holding food out to the side so Molly can get it! haha

morning time
watching cartoons

everyone playing in Molly's house

I want to be just like Daddy!!

Well if you haven't been around P lately then let me tell you how much of a Daddy's girl she is! It is Daddy or NOBODY!! not even me! haha When he walks in the room she gets so excited and leaps out of my arms or starts fussing just to get to him. It is cute, but I can't wait until I get that much excitement from her one day...everyone has assured me that day will come :) But, I have to agree he is pretty fun and special!!

They love to vacuum together! Everything is wonderful until...
they are done!! and the meltdown begins..to bad I did not get her throwing her hands up and putting her head down in true drama queen style ( I wonder where she got that??) :)

for those that think she never cries and is all smiles...I know it is pitiful but I couldn't resist!

Carl was working in the backyard one day and had his Kayaks down. Presley loved crawling in and out of it and playing inside it. I know Carl can't wait to take her out in his new canoe when she is a little bigger. I have a feeling she will like it just as much!

Spring has sprung and gone...

It was such a nice spring this year and even seemed to last more than a couple of days. We took advantage of it and spent a lot of time outside playing and swinging, Miss P's favorite. Here are some pics.

Our friend Grant turned 2 in April and Presley went to her first birthday party. She had lots of fun, as I am sure most of the kids did. They had it out at camp Mohawk which was a park/camp that Carl grew up next to. Most of it was private but a few years back the county took it over and turned it into a county park, and it is awesome!! It is so nice, much better than when we were kids!

Weee!!
"Look Dad, no hands!!"

oh course she liked the big slide

One Saturday we loaded up the dog and a picnic and went to a local park for a while, it was nice and Presley wanted to wander all over the place. She was not having that blanket only business, there was too much to discover!

having lunch!!

Paula extended her patio and she bought a walker for P to use outside. She likes it, but doesn't quite have the hang of it. She can only seem to go backwards.

She is not a big fan of hats or glasses. Well actually she likes the glasses, but they don't stay on, she tilts them down and looks over the top of them and smiles. She always poses when you put them on and adjust them, then she tries to put them up on her head! It is too cute! she is such a ham.
